Wine Cake

So I had a request for the wine cake recipe that I mentioned yesterday. I wish it was a) more complicated and b) I wish I had a picture. I could TOTALLY take a picture of the carnage that is left of the one my mom made but...it's less than pretty and it would show how much I have eaten of my HUSBAND'S birthday cake in 2 days. Oh well...

Here is the recipe. Try it. Love it. Share it!

Wine Cake

1 box yellow cake mix (I prefer Duncan Hines)
1 box vanilla pudding
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 cup vegetable oil (or applesauce if you are trying to be good but the eggs kinda nix that one...)
1/2 cup water
4 eggs

Combine all ingredients and pour into a greased bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 - 60 minutes.

THAT'S IT!

If you want to jazz it up a bit, add a delicious glaze.

Combine...white wine, powdered sugar, and vanilla until you get the consistency you like. I like my thick...my mom likes hers thin. Pour onto the cake once cooled. It may pool in the center but that is 100% and turns out to be the best part! It will start to soak into the bottom of the cake and make is magically wonderful.

Hope you try it and if you do...let me know how it turns out!

I must give credit though. This recipe originally came from my Aunt Joan and has been a family favorite ever since I was little.

Happy Baking!
